“Your Home Away From Home” Terri Wolfe, Proud Owner of Wolfe Den Inn & Suites
For those looking for a cozy place to stay in Kindersley, look no further than Wolfe Den Inn & Suites.
Terri Wolfe who was born in Kindersley and raised on a farm in the R.M. of Oakdale is working hard to create a one-of-a-kind place for people to call home for a night or two. “With the exception of about 10 years working in Saskatoon, I have lived in Kindersley most of my life,” she shared.
Two years ago, Wolfe resigned from her position with the R.M. of Oakdale No. 320/Village of Coleville, and took this opportunity to figure out what she really wanted to do. During this time, she would often find herself thinking about the years she and her mom travelled together and how they would pick quaint little inns to stay in. They would chat about décor, what they liked and didn’t like about the hotel, and how much fun it would be to own one. “One of our all-time favourites was a rustic roadside Inn in a little town called Hungry Horse, Montana,” shared Wolfe.
Growing up, she also took many vacations with her family, “I was always so excited to stay in different hotels. Even now, as an adult, I still love travelling.”
So, it’s thanks to her many travels, her love of hosting gatherings and the fact she has been renting rooms in her home for a number of years that made buying a hotel a pretty comfortable direction for her to take.
“Already, some of my favorite moments have been the support I’ve received from the community and the new people I’ve met as the rooms fill up. I’m looking forward to the reno’s being completed in the front office and then I can focus on modernizing and decorating the rooms. The weather has been a bit of a challenge, dealing with electrical issues and getting adequate heat in the rooms has also been a battle. Lucky for me, I have a very handy maintenance crew who have been monumental in bringing this old building back to life. My housekeepers have also been crucial; they’ve deep cleaned the rooms and sanitized everything while I’ve got the administration work organized. I could not do this without my team!
Now that she is up and running, Wolfe promises travellers a home away from home where nightly, weekly or monthly rates are available. For those looking to book a room, please call (306) 460-4804.
