Margaret (Marg) Stevens
Margaret Ann Stevens passed away on May 21, 2022, at the age of 92 years in Heritage Manor, Kindersley Saskatchewan.
Marg was born in Bodo, Alberta on September 29, 1929, and grew up on the family farm near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. At the age of 18 her mother passed away, and Marg took over the roll of housekeeper, cook, and caring for her younger siblings.
As a young woman she began to work in Macklin. It was there that she met her husband Jim, and they were married in 1953. They raised a family there until they moved when Jim started a new job in Kindersley. Marg being an excellent cook, started to work at the Sunset Lodge (in Kindersley) cooking for the residents there. When the new Heritage Manor opened, she switched gears and began working in the laundry department. She remained there until her retirement in July of 1994.
She loved to RV and go camping. She loved to see new areas of the country and would often revisit their favourite spots. She had a special love for animals or sitting down with a good book.
Marg is survived by her brothers; Jerome (Monica) Schlosser, and Antony (Helen) Schlosser. Her children; a son Rod (Deb) Stevens, and her daughter Sue (Gord) Warman. Marg’s grandchildren; Krista Stevens (Dustin), Danika Stevens (Sean), Kieth Warman (Rowena), and Leasha Warman, and her great-grandchildren; Mila and Barret.
She was predeceased by her husband James (Jim) Stevens, her parents William and Ludwina Schlosser, an infant brother Joseph, infant sister Delores, sisters; Dorothy Taylor and Mildred Leibel.
Marg will live on in the memories of family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Mass held for Margaret on Monday, May 30th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kindersley SK with Father John Abban-Bonsu as Celebrant. Marg will be laid to her eternal rest beside her beloved James in the Rosetown Cemetery, Rosetown SK.
