Rosetown RCMP Report Numerous Scam Phone Calls

May 27 at 2:35 p.m. – Rosetown RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision with a deer on Highway 7 near Harris, SK. There were no injuries – reported for insurance purposes.

May 28 at 4:21 p.m.– Rosetown RCMP received a request for a wellbeing check. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and nothing further was required. At 5:33 p.m. – RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision with a deer on Highway 7 near Rosetown, SK. There were no injuries – reported for insurance purposes.

May 29 at 8:34 a.m. – Rosetown RCMP acted as mediators in a family dispute. At 3:41 p.m.- Rosetown RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence and garage in Zealandia, SK. The matter is still under investigation. At 11:17 p.m. – RCMP received a request for a wellbeing check in Elrose, SK. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

May 30 at 3:05 p.m.– Rosetown RCMP received a report of a suspicious person in Rosetown, SK. Members patrolled the area but not able to locate anyone or find anything suspicious. At 4:42 p.m.– RCMP received a request for a wellbeing check. Members attended and spoke to the subject of complaint.

May 31 at 12:37 a.m.– Rosetown RCMP received a report of mischief. There was insufficient evidence to proceed. At 8:14 a.m. – RCMP received a report of theft of tires from a business yard in Rosetown, SK. The matter is still under investigation.

June 1 at 9:35 a.m. – Rosetown RCMP received a traffic complaint on Highway 4. Members patrolled but were unable to locate the vehicle.

June 2 at 7:45 a.m.– Rosetown RCMP received a report of an assault in Rosetown, SK. The matter is still under investigation.

There have been numerous reports of scam phone calls. The nature of the calls includes individuals telling people that their SIN in being suspended. Scammers are also setting up fake websites that cause pop-ups to appear on your computer screen warning that you have a virus, they will offer to fix it but they are requesting people to purchase iTune, Google Play or VISA cards and to give the numbers on the back of the cards. Police are reminding people to NOT give any personal information to unknown individuals and if, in doubt, always call the RCMP before agreeing to any callers requests.

There were 30 Traffic related charges issued.
