Kindersley Fire Brigade Welcomes New Truck
The Kindersley Fire Brigade has a new addition to its fleet.
Over the weekend of June 11, members were in Red Deer to bring home their new ladder truck, although this is a refurbished ladder platform truck, it is new to the department.
Fire Chief Jeff Soveran shared with us a few advantages of the department having a platform fire truck.
“The platform fire truck comes with many advantages, as platforms are safer and more comfortable for operations. Including rescue, ventilation, exterior overhaul, and aerial stream applications. Along with impressive flow rate, offering aerial firefighting capabilities.
Our department is in a better position now to respond to larger buildings with heights of 3 or 4 stories, this aerial will help reduce the spread of fire from one building to the next, along with providing a safer rescue option with its platform.
The Kindersley Fire Brigade along with the Town of Kindersley, and the RM290 continue push the limits by providing the necessary equipment to ensure a speedy mitigation to incidents within our community and beyond.”
