KFD Participates in July 1 Activities

On July 1st the Kindersley Fire Department Public Education team took part in two events. The first was a colour parade at the Kindersley museum.

The second was a fun day at Baker part in conjunction with the Better Together group. “We had the public education trailer on-site and had roughly 100 people tour through, we also had our dunk tank, target house and some fire hose soccer on the go.
Our members took part in some peddle cart drag races and interacted with families and kids all day,” shared Mitch Hope, Deputy Fire Chief. A big shout out to John Faubert and his hydro-vac crew for heating some water for our dunk tank, our swimmers greatly appreciated it!”

The Fire Department’s first challenge coin was also put up for sale. “They will be for sale at different events we host throughout the year for $20.00 each,” shared Hope. “We may also post them on our page at some point so watch for updates on when, where, and how to purchase.”

The Department is now booking groups and businesses for fire safety training with their Pub Ed trailer. They have lessons for everyone from preschool to senior homes. Please contact them through our Facebook messenger or email for further details.
