Do You Know Your Fish Limit?

Did you know that general fishing limits apply to most provincial Crown waters in Saskatchewan?

A limit is the maximum number and size of fish you are allowed to keep or have in your possession.

Anglers may possess no more than one limit of each fish species at any time. This includes fish you eat or give away that angling day, as well as all fish that are at your camp, being transported by you or even fish you have at home in your fridge or freezer.

Some provincial Crown waters also have additional special regulations regarding angler activity and harvest. Both the general limits and special regulations are important to maintain the health of Saskatchewan’s fish populations.

All fish that cannot be legally kept must be immediately released back into the waters from which they were taken, in a manner that causes the least harm to the fish – ideally fish should be released without removing them from the water.
