Update: Town Water Continues to Come From River

The Town of Kindersley shared they are no longer pulling from the CN reservoir as the leak is fixed.

We have spoken with the Town, and the below advisory released yesterday is still ongoing today:

“We are now drawing our water back directly from the river. During our repair of the leak that occurred on our source line we were drawing from the CN, our open water reservoir. We are extremely lucky that we have reservoirs to pull from in time of emergency. This ensures we do not have to implement water restrictions and can still supply water to our residents.

Open water reservoirs, especially during summer and high heat provide challenges such as water odor. We can assure our residents that our water meets and exceeds government regulations.

Since we are now pulling from the river, the odor and taste of the water should begin to return to normal within a few days. It is very common for the Town to pull water from our reservoir and occurs many times throughout the year. Regardless of our water source it is treated and safe for consumption,” shared the Town of Kindersley
