Know the Signs of An Opioid Overdose
What is 100X more toxic than morphine?
Fentanyl is a powerful and toxic drug that is often made illegally and can be added into other drugs without a user’s knowledge.
Fentanyl is odourless and tasteless, and therefore hard to detect. A lethal dose of pure Fentanyl is less than two milligrams. That’s about the equivalent of two grains of salt.

– Knowing about the Good Samaritan Overdose Act – This Act protects anyone experiencing a drug overdose or witnessing an overdose from potential charges of possession of a controlled substance.
– Knowing about Naloxone – Naloxone temporarily reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and restores breathing in a few minutes. If you are at risk of an opioid overdose and/or might witness an opioid overdose, you are eligible for free training and a free Take Home Naloxone kit. The training covers overdose prevention, recognition, and response, including how to administer naloxone.
For information on where to pick up a Take Home Naloxone kit, visit https://www.saskatchewan.ca/…/take-home-naloxone…
– It’s important to note that Naloxone treatment itself does not replace the need to seek immediate medical attention in the event of an overdose. Call 911 immediately if you suspect an overdose.
