Kindersley Chamber Feature Tisdale’s Sales And Service
Wow! Walking into Tisdale’s Ford dealership was an amazing experience. The glass was clean, the floors gleamed and the showroom vehicles looked spectacular.
Roger McKenzie has been at Tisdale’s Ford for a long time. First as a part time student after school washing cars and other odd jobs before graduating to a full time employee in 1987. As time went on Roger realized he really liked the automotive business and ended up becoming a partner in 2004. It was 5 years later in 2009 that he became the dealer-principal by buying the dealership lock, stock and barrel, including the Esso gas station and the restaurant. There is no doubt that this a very busy and caring place to buy a car or truck or have some service work performed or buy some parts, if you prefer to do your own repairs.
Founder Norm Tisdale opened the dealership in 1955 and ran it successfully until 1977 when John Boquist took over the reins. So from 1955 to 2020, that’s an incredible 65 years of history with many vehicle sales and satisfied customers. Roger is a modest guy and prefers to focus on the dealership and the staff and customers than himself. His whole mantra about the dealership is EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
People like dealing with Roger and his team because of the way they feel they are treated. It’s almost like you’re part of the family. The entire staff is very engaged and loyal when it comes to their customers and their automotive needs. A lot of the staff have been there a long time and sure doesn’t happen if you don’t like your job or the people you work with!
Tisdale’s is a huge player in the automotive industry in Kindersley and towns in the surrounding area. Roger says that the sales consultants will go in to the smaller communities to help their customers if it’s more convenient for them. That’s what they call going the extra mile to help your customers and that is the secret to their success.
Roger has seen many changes in the vehicles over the years. It used to be that vehicles could be worked on at home. Now there is so much electronics on todays cars and trucks that the average “back yard mechanic” can’t hardly even diagnose a concern. The diagnostic equipment needed is expensive and can only be used by expert trained technicians. Roger realizes that does frustrate a lot of people but the industry seems to be going to more electronics and we just have to go with the flow. The technology is more complex and the safety features to 2nd to none. That leads to safer and more fuel efficient vehicles that you can trust.
Tisdale’s has always been a community-minded business and has given back over 1 million dollars to Kindersley and the surrounding area in donations to many charitable events and charities. That’s a lot of help given out to people in need!
The value from buying a Ford is real, as Roger knows the products, services and his customers, many of whom turn into long time friends. Need your vehicle serviced or to trade in your present vehicle, come down to Tisdale’s Ford and have the experience of a lifetime and deal with a knowledgable and dedicated team of professionals who are always willing to go the extra mile for you!
