Kevin Chats With Past Jr. Klipper, D Jay McGrath

D Jay McGrath absolutely loves the game of hockey! His passion for the game came through loud and clear. Growing up with older brothers in hockey, it was only natural that he would follow suit.

While still in high school, D Jay played hockey for 3 years in Everett, Washington of the WHL. After playing a partial season (2010 – 2011), he came home to play for the Klippers and unfortunately sustained a season ending knee injury which has never fully healed, even to this day. He followed that with 2 more years here and became the captain for the 2013 season.

Then life got more interesting. Two years at Red Deer College taking his teaching degree and playing hockey for the Red Deer College Kings. Following that came a brief stint in the oilfield before taking on a sales position at Jubilee Ford in Saskatoon for two years. Next came three years at Energy Dodge here in Kindersley and as the saying goes “A star is born”!

“Cruisin with Deej” is popular on social media and his friendly face and great customer service skills are garnering more attention daily. D Jay McGrath is a very knowledgeable people person who loves what he does and it shows!

Nowadays he still considers himself a rinkrat and can be found giving back to our community in the form of coaching Bantam AA hockey and playing for the Senior Klippers.

Thanks for staying around town!
