Equal Pay Day 2022: Women Now Working For Free

As of November 20, women effectively begin working for free for the rest of the year due to the average gender pay gap.
Throughout 2022, it feels like we’ve had more conversations about money than ever before. But let’s face it, our hand has been forced by a worsening cost of living crisis, a confirmed recession and economic pressures affecting every part of our lives, from wages to household bills.
So when our finances are tighter than ever, it’s an even greater kick in the teeth to remember that this year, women will, on average, take home £564 ($898.79) less than men each month – an increase from £536 ($854) in 2021.
