Klippers VS Humboldt

By Kevin Martin

The WCEC in Kindersley was unusually busy Friday and Saturday (Nov. 18 and 19) as the Kindersley Jr. Klippers played a 2 game match against the visiting Nipawin Hawks. As well, there a U-15 tournament going on all weekend PLUS on Saturday it was parents and billet families night PLUS a Calcutta!

Friday saw the Juniors take a 4 to 0 lead and then they seemed to take their foot off the gas pedal as Nipawin came back to win 7 to 4! Saturdays game was eerily similar except the boys in blue and green keep the accelerator down all the way and took that game 6 to 3.

Both goalies from both teams faced a lot of rubber. Over the 2 games the Hawks peppered Logan Falk and Cody Jaman with 82 shots while the Hawks goalies saw 67 Klipper shots. The fans turned up in droves for both games to a total of 1,850.

All in all it was a decent weekend. Getting a split is always better than losing both games.

The Klippers are on the road now until December 3rd. their next away game is Tuesday, November 22nd as they play in Yorkton against the Terriers at the Westland arena. Puck drop is 7:00 pm.
