Sr. Klippers Out of Provincials

By Kevin Martin

It was a valiant effort put forth by the Kindersley Sr. Klippers, however, the Drake Canucks got the better of them in the Co-op Arena at the West Central Events Centre on Thursday night. This was a tough loss as the boys played Drake and lost 3 – 2 in double overtime in game 1.  The crowd was HUGE and extremely supportive of our guys  but Drake was stronger and able to overcome that and take them by a score of 4 – 1.  It was a fast and feisty game as both teams gave everything they had.  Both goalies made great saves and the effort put out was amazing. Kindersley had made some roster additions for this game, including Tyler Traptow from the Jr. Klippers but those changes weren’t  enough.

The Klippers knew a loss would mean they were out of the provincials but now they can focus their energy on beating Macklin in league playoffs. Keep your heads held high guys as you have had a great season!
