I recently had the opportunity to spend a day out with a good friend. Since having children, that time seems to be fewer and far between. It was much needed. I have found that the winter months can be isolating, and a bit more challenging to bundle up a toddler and an infant and head out into the cold. Often, you end up going days on end without breathing in the fresh air, feeling the sun on your face or socializing. Three things that can drastically improve sleep and overall health.
My day was full of bliss to say the least. We headed into Kindersley to try the new Harmonic Egg, a sound and light chamber for cellular regeneration. The vibe inside the studio was calming, from the natural wood decor to the scent and scenery of leafy greenery. We started out with a grounding questionnaire that prompted a full body and mind check in. A few small ailments such as recurring headaches came up that I had been ignoring for a few weeks, along with bursts of frustration that I had been experiencing. When you have little ones depending on you, you often forget to ‘check-in’ on yourself and your own health. I wanted to feel lighter and not so easily frustrated.
Since Kristina, the Harmonic Egg owner has recently become a certified transformational breath facilitator, we were offered a free breathwork session beyond our Egg therapy. I set an intention for the guided breath session and following those 50 minutes, for the first time in a while, I felt light and acutely aware of my surroundings. An experience I highly recommend if you are interested in the power of your own breath.
Next, I stepped into the Egg. Settled into the zero gravity chair, tucked under a blanket, I set another intention. I wish I could share more about my experience in the Egg, but I fell asleep shortly after the music and lights began. Luckily, this form of therapy promises that its effects are beneficial whether awake or not. Have I noticed any benefits? Well, I haven’t had a single headache since – cause or correlation? Too early to tell. Like most therapies it is encouraged to try the Egg a few times to see true results.
If you’re looking for a new way to relieve physical discomfort, anxiety, stress, or even for a day of fun with that open-minded friend, I encourage you to check out the studio. It’s full with books, delicious electrolyte concoctions and feel-good vibes. You won’t regret getting out of the house – especially you mama’s.
