Make Waves Therapy & Fitness Celebrates One Year!

It has been a busy time for Ocean DeBusschere whose business Make Waves Therapy & Fitness recently celebrated its one-year anniversary!

“March 4th, 2022 was the exact day I opened—the first day I saw patients. In that first week I saw five patients and just last week I saw 35 patients and had a game with one of the teams I am with this year!”

DeBusschere grew up in Dodsland Saskatchewan and now lives on a farm south of Kindersley with her fiancé and two dogs. Having gone to school at Mount Royal University in Calgary she obtained a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education with a major in Athletic Therapy.

“I chose Athletic Therapy because I wanted to become a healthcare professional that assists individuals in getting back to their normal. When I was dancing I suffered an injury and felt that more could be done during my rehabilitation. I felt my healthcare professionals at the time did not understand the athletic, mental and physical abilities needed to return to my activities safely. I believe that putting the patient first is the most important aspect of any rehabilitation plan,” she shared.

Until recently DeBusschere split her time working as a part-time oilfield medic with Zephyr Safety Corp., and Make Waves. Now fully focused on Make Waves, she offers clinical services at 109 Avenue West in Kindersley and also assists on local sports teams. “Things have been really busy for me, which is great! Thank you to the Senior Klippers team and Larry Wintoneak’s team (Bantam AAs) for having me a part of their teams this season!”

If you are in need of DeBusschere’s help, you know you are in good hands. Many of her clients have taken to social media to share just how great they feel after visiting her, calling her genuine, organized and thorough. One client shared that their lower back was almost 100% healed after a few sessions with her.

For athletes, baseline concussion testing is also available. This form of testing helps healthcare professionals determine when an athlete is ready to return to their sport, while also minimizing missed game and practice time.
