Dakota Buttar Wins PBR Canada Touring Pro Division Event in Dauphin, Manitoba

Two-time and reigning PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Champion Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan) rode supreme Friday evening in Dauphin, Manitoba. The veteran contender went a perfect 2-for-2 to win the Touring Pro Division’s Mazergroup PBR Dauphin, presented by the Dauphin Adventure Fund, inside Credit Union Place.

Buttar first struck in Round 1 when he delivered the third-best score, marked 82.5 point atop Last Flight Tonight (Skori Bucking Bulls).

The reserved Saskatchewan then surged to the top of the leaderboard, clinching the victory, when he delivered the high-marked ride of the event, awarded 86 points in the championship round for his 8-second effort on Hanna Motors Sure Shot (Skori Bucking Bulls).

Buttar garnered 37 national points for the win.

As the only other rider to be flawless in Dauphin, Alison Trindade (Leduc, Alberta) was second, netting 27 national points.

After riding Wide Open (Lazy S Bucking Bulls) for 81.5 points in Round 1, Trindade punctuated his outing inside Credit Union Place with an 84.5-point ride on Hanna Motors Broken Halo (Skori Bucking Bulls).

Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil) parlayed an 85.5-point ride on Wood Chuck (Lazy S Bucking Bulls) into a third-place finish.

The surging Brazilian earned 18 national points for the bronze showing.

Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) was fourth.

Tetz, who rides for the Arizona Ridge Riders in the separate PBR Teams league, rode Poundmaker (Skori Bucking Bulls) for a Round 1-best 84.5 points. He left Dauphin with 16 national points.

Rounding out the Top 5, and tying for fifth, was Tyler Craig (Crossfield, Alberta) and Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan). Both posted 84-point rides.

Craig covered Enviro-Trak Scootin To Hell (Midnight Bucking Bulls) in the final round to net 11.5 national points, while three-time Canada Champion Roy conquered Bull Dozer (Skori Bucking Bulls) for a similar 84 points in Round 1 to collect 13.5 national points.

In the bull pen, Whiskey Moon (Skori Bucking Bulls) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. The bovine athlete posted an unrivaled 43-point score in the championship round for his 2.53 seconds of work against Dusty Golden (Skori Bucking Bulls).
