Great Plains College Graduation
On Friday, May 31st, Great Plains College held their Graduation and Recognition ceremony for
students graduating from the Kindersley and Biggar campuses at the Kindersley Inn.
MC and Great Plains College President & CEO, Brad Mahon, did an amazing job of keeping
everyone on track and on time. There were congratulating speeches from MP, Jeremy Patzer,
Kindersley MLA Ken Francis and also Kindersley Mayor, Rod Perkins and Biggar Mayor, Jim
Rickwood. Lana Rhodes of GPC brought greetings on behalf of Kelly Block, Member of
Parliament for Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek, who was unable to attend.
There were approximately 35 students graduating this night. Some from the Administrative
Assistant program and Adult Basic Education to Continuing Care Assistants both part-time and
full-time as well as Early Childhood Education Level 1 Certificate of Achievement part-time.
All the students were dressed in their gowns as they proceeded to the stage to receive their
certificates and/or diplomas and of course, many pictures from family and friends. Many of
these students are already employed and working and really enjoying what they do. All these
students have taken the first step in bettering themselves and now they can take their new
found talents and education and maybe change the world. Their enthusiasm is infectious as
they step out into their new chosen professions.
Congratulations to ALL of these bright students. Go out, make your mark on the world and
give everything you do, your best efforts! You deserve it.
