Yeehaw! 2024 Kindersley Rodeo a Great Time!
Yeehaw! The 2024 Kindersley Indoor Rodeo is done and in the books. Another successful rodeo for Kindersley and the Town and spectators should be proud of the dedicated volunteers who do what they do to make it happen. Something of this magnitude just doesn’t come out of a bottle. It takes many people to make it work and they are always on the scout for more help. Hats off to the rodeo committee and other volunteers!
That being said, the fans were thoroughly entertained by the show. The cowboys and cowgirls did an excellent job showing off their skills. I can’t even imagine the pain some of these professionals have to endure to compete as often as they do. From being bucked off of a bucking bull or bronco to the calf ropers who can sometimes sustain injuries.
The rodeo clown entertained the crowd and even had a “dance off” for 3 contestants in the center of the arena for free tickets to the rodeo dance after the show! They have a dangerous job to do also. When a rider is thrown off an horse or bull, their job is to distract them enough until the out-riders can take control by guiding the animal to the exit. Sometimes they have to duck into a special padded barrel to keep from being injured. What a job!
Some of the bulls seemed a little aggressive and were trying to come out of the chutes while waiting for the rider to set up. It seemed that all the corrals were vibrating when these big beasts start moving around. That’s a lot of heavy nasty on 4 hooves! And guys had to ride them? Wow.
Trick riders, calf roping, bucking broncos and bulls, barrel riding and a new event; 3 youngsters trying to hold onto a pony while 1 of them attempted to get on its back. It was a great time had by all!
