Kerrobert Credit Union Members Donate Over $3,500.00 to Local Fire Departments
The Kerrobert Credit Union’s annual BBQs in support of local volunteer fire departments took place the beginning of June, drawing strong community support and raising significant funds.
The events were held in Major on Wednesday, June 5th, and in Kerrobert on Thursday, June 6th. Both BBQs operated on a donation basis, with all proceeds going directly to the Fire Departments of Major and Kerrobert.
“We feel these local heroes need our support; so they can be there when WE need them. They also supply the BBQs and do all the cooking for us! Be sure to plan a visit at either branch (or both!)” shared the Kerrobert Credit Union.
Despite a few windy days, the BBQs saw a great turnout from the community. A few days after the events, the Kerrobert Credit Union took to social media to announce that their members had donated over $3,500 to the Major and Kerrobert Fire Departments.
“We had a couple windy days but so many people still came out to enjoy the BBQ and make donations, thank you! Our donation totals were $1,350.00 for Major Fire Department and $2,193.00 for the Kerrobert Fire Department,” the Credit Union shared.
The community’s generosity ensures that these local departments have the support they need to continue their work. The Kerrobert Credit Union extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and donated.
