Details on Goose Festival and More!
Well, the summer is nearly gone and the crops are looking great! Stores are busy with travellers and even the new electric car charging station by the Co-op gas bar has been busy. At the Chamber of Commerce, we are also busy being out and about and speaking with businesses to see what concerns there are. Of course the road closures and construction are prominent and unfortunately an ongoing and almost yearly part of summer we have to endure. Short term pain for long term gain? Doesn’t always seem like that!
Our annual Golf Tournament is coming up on Saturday, August 24th and I would like to say THANK YOU to all the teams who entered and all the businesses who have helped us out by donating prizes and generally making this fall fundraiser the success it has become. Without the support of our local companies, this event would wither away. As long as the weather holds out…
The Goose Festival is also fast approaching. And just to be clear, it is ok for parade entrants to have walkers give out candies and treats. We do not wish them to be thrown from the floats. Too many near misses are happening because children are eager to pick up candies on the road and not focusing on the floats and how they could cause harm. Let’s keep it safe for everyone.
