The West Central Abilities New Building Grand Opening Is Just Around the Corner
Taking place on September 3rd, the public is invited to attend the official opening of WCA’s new day program building! Located at 122 1st Avenue West in Kindersley, the building has seen a lot of progress over the last few months. Cabinets and countertops have been installed, along with plumbing fixtures, and during the last week of July, they moved! On July 31 clients got their first look at the building and have been attending programs in the fresh new place since!
One major addition to the new building is the ceiling track lift system, which will make spaces accessible and safe for the individuals being supported along with the staff members doing the moving. This lift system was made possible due in large part to a $10, 000 donation from the Kindersley KIN Clubs! The new Day Program Building will also facilitate daily activities within the community, allowing staff and residents to spend more time downtown and welcome more community members into their facility. The building includes a sensory space, designated areas for assisting with physio and occupational therapy programs, and an accessible, modern kitchen for learning life skills.
Over the last few years, there have been many fundraising efforts by individuals and businesses to help bring this new building to life, and now, West Central Abilities can’t wait to welcome you to their new facility!
