New Seats Installed in the InterPipeline Arena
Wow! This new look inside WCEC’s InterPipeline Arena is simply amazing! These new blue seats are a perfect fit for fans of all spots. The only areas not being done for now are the end sections on either side. The contractors are nearly done with the install, and the first “official” event will be the PBR bull riding competition put on by Dakota Buttar on September 5th and I’m sure the fans will be happy to sit on a better chair instead of the old wooden benches. As far as hockey goes, they have relocated the visiting teams announcer platform from the east side and put it on the west side. This will free up an area for approximately 9 more seats.
An experiment was conducted last season that involved having the visiting hockey team use a dressing room on the west side instead of the east side, with the referees moving from the west side to the east. This was to help ease congestion and traffic flow in that east corridor for patrons visiting the beer gardens. It seemed to work well and will continue the same for this season. Kimmer’s Korner is finished in the lobby area and looks awesome. The mechanical contractors are almost finished up their job installing the new ice making plant so as soon as the bull riding is complete, then the WCEC maintenance crew can make the ice for the Jr. Klippers and other hockey/skating clubs to use.
Looks to me like another busy season down at the West Central Events Centre this fall and winter!
