Write Out Loud Season 2024-2025 Program Announced
Write Out Loud 2024/25 is pleased to return to the Swift Current Lyric Theatre with a varied and interesting line-up.
September 25 – Trevor Herriot – Regina writer, naturalist, regular guest on CBC’s Blue Sky regarding environmental issues. Herriot has received many awards for his non-fiction works but will present his first novel, The Economy of Sparrows (Thistledown Press, 2023)
October 16 – Ruth Chorney – writer, editor, and registered publisher living at Tisdale, SK. Chorney’s novel, Haunted, (7Springs Books, 2023) the third in her Deer Creek Series, is a murder mystery that explores rural situations and relationships through rich descriptions of farm life and the natural environment.
November 20 – Amy Boyes – a writer and music teacher from Warman, SK – In her second book, Yes, Miss Thompson, (Now or Never Publishing, 2023), Boyes brings her great-grandmother’s past to life in this tale of immigration, inequality, marital abuse, and alcoholism.

March 19 – Angie Counios – Saskatoon writer, high school teacher, dedicated blogger, and co-author of the Shepherd and Wolfe mystery series for Young Adults. My List, My Rules: The Year a Checklist Changed my Life (YNWP, 2023) is a memoir which can also be categorized as self-help. It’s an uplifting book that inspires hope and positivity.
April 16 – Rita Bouvier – admired Metis educator, writer/researcher, poet, and activist living in Saskatoon. A beautiful rebellion (Thistledown Press, 2023) is her fourth book of poetry. The collection grew as a response to the Idle No More movement as it gained momentum and recognition.
Admission is $8.00, and doors open at the Swift Current Lyric Theatre at 6:30. Musical entertainment begins at 7:00 with the featured author to follow.
