Big Night for PBR in Kindersley!
Yee haw!! Was that a show or what!?
The PBR and the Dakota Buttar Invitational sure know how to put on a show. This was billed as the event of the year and it didn’t disappoint. Dakota brought the top bull riders on the PBR to his hometown of Kindersley and they were impressed. Some of the riders actually had ridden in rodeos here in the past and were glad they returned. Coy Robbins was the eventual winner and posed for pictures with Dakota after. All the riders cheered for each other and genuinely supported each other. This was a “best of the best” contest and the sold out crowd of 1,600 cheered loudly.
The evening started out with a pyro and light show and it was awesome! Next was a touching tribute to Dakota as the extremely professionally run show followed Dakota from growing up and going to school in Kindersley all the way to his accomplishments on the PBR. The support from the business community and the Town of Kindersley made this evening possible. When the officials from the PBR asked Dakota about bringing the bull riding to Kindersley, he just flashed a big grin and said “That would great”. This humble and quiet fellow has quite a following and when it was his turn to ride, the whole building shook. Unfortunately the bull he was riding had other plans and he was bucked off before the required 8 seconds.
There was also a “shark tank” in the middle of the rodeo ring. What is it for? Well, there were 8 seats inside it and some lucky fans were able to sit inside it and watch the competitors and bulls up close and personal. That would give you a whole new perspective of bull riding wouldn’t it? The rodeo “clown” was also busy entertaining the crowd while the bulls were being put into the chutes and the riders getting ready.
Now who in their right mind would willingly get on top of a 2,000 angry bull and want to ride it? Not this author that’s for sure! My back hurts just watching these guys! Injuries are a part of cowboy life and many of the competitors have been hurt at various times. The PBR has 4 medical professionals and therapists on duty to help with any ache or pain.
An event of this magnitude takes many volunteers and a BIG thank you goes out to everyone to who came out to help. This couldn’t be done with you!
This evening was truly one to remember and the fans left happy, even though the hometown hero didn’t win. Dakota Buttar is always a winner in our eyes. Well done and a big thanks to the PBR and Dakota Buttar for putting on so professional a show! We were thoroughly entertained.
