Kindersley Fire Responds to Three Calls Yesterday
It was a busy day for Kindersley fire crews yesterday (September 11, 2024), as they received multiple dispatches throughout the day.
“Because of our personnel and equipment, we were able to manage the multiple calls with minimal losses to property,” shared Fire Chief Jeff Soveran.
Below are fire calls for Wednesday, September 11, 2024:
Call One:
-8:21 dispatched to residential fire alarms ringing
-Crews readied themselves and responding units for dispatch
8:24 notification of false alarm and crews and units stood down
8:24 all units and personnel cleared for service
Call Two:
-12:18 Dispatched to structure fire on main street, smoke flames reported coming out of front door of business.
-Dispatched multiple units, including ladder truck and 2 class A pumpers, and command unit, and 17 firefighters.
-Crews extinguished fire and performed over-haul, cleared smoke, and secured location for investigation.
-Investigation was completed and building turned over to owners and insurance owners and insurance company.
-13:39 all units and personnel cleared for service.
Call Three:
-14:19 dispatched to Brock, tree and grass on fire due to power line being downed by tree and wind.
-SaskPower dispatched to location by fire department also dispatched multiple units, including 2 class pumpers, a wildland unit, and 2 tenders.
-Upon arrival crews secured area for SaskPower to shut down power.
-Once power was isolated and grounded, crews extinguished fire on ground and in tree.
-15:52 all units and personnel cleared for service
