Kindersley Can Throw a (Goose Festival) Party
Boy howdy, can Kindersley throw a party!
The 2024 Goose Festival was an unmitigated success, thanks to all the people who came out
to partake in the festivities. The weather was a little cool to start the day but the sun peeked
out in the afternoon and everyone’s spirits were lifted and you could hear laughter and
conversations up and down Main Street.
The R.C.M.P. started things off and it was a looooong parade with approximately 54 float
entries and all manor of decorations. TKC took 1st place, Reinbold Electric came in 2nd and
the Kindersley Jr. Klippers picked up 3rd. Once the parade finished, then the antique car and
truck show participants began to line up on the first two blocks so Main Street and its
surprising still how many entries there were and much interest generated.
The food trucks were lined up most of the day, the entertainment on the stage was watched by
lots of people and everyone who came down to Main Street had a great time. Better Together
was busy with children’s activities, including a bouncy castle. InterPipeline had lineups to use
the rock climbing wall and a barrel train was making laps on the street with its smaller
passengers! Dakota Buttar even made an appearance and was busy signing autographs.
So in closing, this version of the Goose Festival was amazing! A big THANK YOU To all of the
food trucks and vendors who came out to present themselves and their products. And an
even bigger THANK YOU to everyone who came out and watched the parade and watched the
stage bands and just hung around enjoying the atmosphere of a big street party.
A big thank you to the Rotary Club. They helped out by putting up the street barricades and running security and crowd control for the parade.
If you would like to have an activity in next years Goose Festival, please contact the Chamber
as early as possible so we can advertise it for you. See you then!
