Danone Canada is recalling its Kirkland Signature Probiotic Yogurt in Canada due to concerns it could pose a health risk to immunocompromised individuals.
The yogurt, sold in 24-packs of 100-gram servings, has Costco item number 1264134. Consumers who purchased the product are advised not to eat it and can return it to any Costco location for a full refund. The recall is due to the potential presence of a type of yeast that may cause illness.
“The food safety risk is low as this yeast is not known to grow in refrigerated temperatures,” Danone Canada said in a written notice Monday that Costco sent to affected customers and posted on its website(opens in a new tab). “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The affected yogurt has “best before” dates of October 18, 20, and 22.
