Klippers VS Humbolt
Well, the saying goes that whoever makes the first mistake loses.
And that was certainly never truer than at the InterPipeline Arena at the WCEC on Friday night.
The Humboldt Broncos brought their 2 wins and 1 loss to take on the high-flying Kindersley Jr.
Klippers with their 3 wins and 1 loss this season.
It was a very entertaining game with not that many penalties. With the score tied after
regulation play, it was time for a 3 on 3 overtime period. And that’s where the aforementioned
mistake comes in. During a 3 on 3, anything can happen and it so happened that Humboldt
made the mistake as they allowed Will Christian to score the game winner on a break-away!
The crowd of 941 erupted wildly as the Klippers scored and the players swarmed off the bench
to congratulate Will. Even goaltender Brett O’Halloran raced down the ice to be a part of the
celebration. This team id vastly different from teams in previous years. There is more
confidence and trust in each other to get the job done.
Coach Clayton Jardine certainly is the maestro of this symphony and it plays amazing! Let’s
hope the Jrs can do it again on Saturday night in Humboldt at the Elgar Peterson Arena. We
know that the Broncos will be looking to even it up. Puck drop is 7:00 pm. The next home
game for the Klips is on Wednesday, October 9th at 7:30.
