Lil’s Surgery Was Successful
Earlier this month, a sweet six-month-old kitten named Lil needed an urgent and costly surgery. She had been limping for some time, and after a few vet visits, the cause was identified: a fractured femoral head. Lil required a femoral head ostectomy (FHO), a surgery where the damaged head of the femur is removed. Four years ago, KAWS had another cat undergo the same procedure, and it was a success—the cat was adopted and now enjoys a high quality of life, with just a minor gait difference but no pain.
For Lil, it was also a positive outcome, her surgery went well, and she’s recovering wonderfully. Her spirits remain high, and she’s as affectionate as ever. She doesn’t mind wearing her soft cone, though she gets breaks when her foster mom is home. Though she may always walk with a slight limp, she’s pain-free. If her recovery continues smoothly, Lil will be ready for adoption soon!
Lil’s surgery was costly, if you would like to donate to it or any future KAWS surgeries, you can do so in a few ways.
