Pulse and Specialty Grain Market Company Comes to Province

Bornhorst Seeds Ltd., a canary seed buyer and processor in St. Gregor, Saskatchewan, is an existing asset under Harvest Grain Ltd. In the short term, all grain transactions will continue through Bornhorst, which is fully licensed and bonded with the Canadian Grain Commission. The company plans to transition its operations to the Harvest Grain name over time.

In southeast Saskatchewan, Harvest Grain has acquired full ownership of Harvest Milling in Fillmore, purchasing the 50% stake previously held by KF Homestead Properties Inc., led by Lionel Kambeitz. This facility manages a variety of specialty crops.

The company has also added a specialty crop facility in Zealandia, located in west-central Saskatchewan. Formerly owned by Global Food and Ingredients, which entered receivership earlier this year, the facility was initially operated by Canpulse Foods before its sale to Global Food and Ingredients in 2019.

Harvest Grain Ltd. is led by three shareholders: David Nobbs, a farmer and seasoned specialty crop expert; Terry Arnold, a Saskatchewan farmer and grain facility manager; and Rajesh Jain, a specialty crop trader and businessman.
