Thank You Volunteers!
In a smaller town, it is extremely important as many things that happen only happen because of the dedication of volunteers! I mean, think about it. Kids sports, service clubs, etc, all rely on the people who come out and help for no money or title. People help because they want to; not because they have to. Food Mesh is a prime example of people working together for a common cause because they feel the benefits are worth it. They are helping people who need help and they expect nothing in return. Same goes for the Food Bank. Minor sports is no stranger to needing parents to come out and coach or drive their children to games or practices or fundraising. Think about it carefully for a minute. What would happen if people did NOT volunteer? How many activities would cease to happen? I know that the Kindersley Museum runs totally on volunteers. Why? Because these guys and some gals know the importance of it and the era they were brought up in encouraged volunteering.
Where is this going? Well, the Chamber of Commerce also relies on members to step up and volunteer some time to sit on the Board of Directors or to help with events or whatever is required. Board members are also business owners who need to find time from their busy day to help the Chamber with their expertise in planning, finance or whatever it is they do best. As a Chamber and as a community, volunteering becomes so accepted and commonplace that we sometimes forget about the people who selflessly give their time and sometimes money to a cause that is near and dear to them. All volunteers should be thanked for the time they give and the passion that they give it. Fortunately, Kindersley has an enormous talent pool of volunteers who want to make this a better place to play and work and live. Hats off to all those hard working individuals who make us proud by the jobs they do and the manner in which they do it! And if you are looking for an organization or a cause to volunteer with, call the Chamber office 306-463-2320 and we can point you in the right direction.
