Kindersley Fire Responds to Winter Road Accident

The Kindersley Fire Department is reminding residents to avoid driving in winter conditions unless absolutely necessary.

Yesterday, (December 8), at 2:59pm icy roads and blowing snow lead to not only an accident but also put first responders at risk. Kindersley Fire was dispatched to a multi-vehicle collision on ice-covered roads. The department arrived with two rescue units, a utility truck, and a command unit. The team stabilized an injured individual using cervical spine precautions and secured the scene. The injured passenger was turned over to EMS for further care and transported back to Kindersley, While RCMP provided additional support

The scene was cleared by 4:38 p.m., and all personnel returned to the hall by 5:56 p.m.

“Driving in these conditions isn’t just a risk to yourself; it’s a risk to those who come to help,” Fire Chief Jeff Soveran emphasized. “We ask everyone to stay off the roads unless it’s absolutely necessary during these conditions. As we head further into winter we ask drivers to keep an eye on weather alerts before heading out.”
