The Rev. then shares some fascinating facts about the heavy metal community. According to research, metal fans are incredibly loyal—loyal enough to be the most dedicated partners in relationships. A Canadian sociologis explored this in his documentary Heavy Metal: The Headbanger’s Journey, plus a part two. Piotr goes on to explain that, back in the days of the Iron Curtain, heavy metal was a symbol of freedom and self-expression, even in places where it was banned.
But the discussion doesn’t stop there. Piotr gets all philosophical about the diversity of metal music, from opera metal to power metal. Kevin, gets a little lost but is totally game for exploring new things. “I have to get out more.” Piotr, ever the helpful co-host, suggests a simple solution: “Open YouTube and ask me for suggestions.”
