The Flin Flon Bombers and Kindersley Klippers arguably made the biggest splashes on the day.
Flin Flon landed Notre Dame Hounds captain Liam Hunks, a 2004-born defenceman who averages a league-second highest 28 minutes a night and is third amongst blue liners scoring with 24 points through 31 games. They returned two rostered players, a list prospect and a player development fee to Wilcox.
The Klippers acquired highly sought-after 2004-born forward Mason Bueckert, a native of Saskatoon, from the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Bueckert has 43 goals and 111 points in 122 career SJHL contests, all with the Wolves. In this campaign, he has 31 points in 34 games. They also added defenceman Thomas Phillips from Northern Manitoba in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
The Humboldt Broncos get a very honourable mention from their earlier-in-the-week additions of star goaltender Dazza Mitchell, as well as ex-Melville Millionaire Zach Bansley, and the deadline acquisitions of Estevan Bruins’ captain and veteran centreman Cade Kennedy and Melville Millionaires’ defenceman Liam Rodman.
