The Lucky Gopher Bar & Grill Opens in Eston, Saskatchewan
Eston, Saskatchewan, has a new place in town that promises great food, cold drinks, and a nod to local history. The Lucky Gopher Bar & Grill, located on HWY 44, is more than just a bar—it’s a bar, restaurant, off-sale, and hotel all rolled into one.
Under the new ownership of Ben Code, The Lucky Gopher pays homage to Eston’s historic gopher culture. For many years, the town was famous for its annual Gopher Derby, which took place until 1989. To commemorate this quirky piece of local history, a large gopher statue, sculpted from Tyndall stone by Micheal Martin, stands proudly at the end of Main Street. It was only fitting to carry on this tradition in the new business name.
The Lucky Gopher Bar & Grill is proud to boast the “coldest beer” in town, thanks to Eston’s only walk-in beer cooler. The bar also offers a variety of weekly shooter and cocktail specials, ensuring there’s always something new to try. Additionally, The Lucky Gopher is more than just a place to grab a drink. The establishment is looking forward to booking bands and comedians for live entertainment and hosting pool tournaments.
With its unique blend of history, entertainment, and community spirit, The Lucky Gopher Bar & Grill is set to become a local hangout in Eston. Whether you’re a long-time resident or just passing through, make sure to stop by and experience everything The Lucky Gopher has to offer!
If you are looking for a great place to work, The Lucky Gopher is looking to lease out the kitchen/restaurant portion of the building. They are also on the lookout for a new bartender. If you’re interested in these opportunities, please contact Ben at (306) 962-7266.
