
Nipawin RCMP: Three Charged After Post Office Break-Ins
On March 23, 2025, Nipawin RCMP were making proactive patrols and located a wanted male, Reginald Nawakayas, in Nipawin, SK. He was arrested at the scene on his outstanding warrant in relation to two break and enters that occurred on February 18, 2025.
During the arrest, officers located and seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun.
Reginald Nawakayas was additionally charged with:
- two counts, possession a firearm/ammunition when prohibited, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a concealed weapon, Section 90, Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code;
- two counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code; and
- one count, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code.
Reginald Nawakayas appeared in court in Nipawin on March 24, 2025.

On February 18, 2025 at approximately 9:05 a.m., Nipawin RCMP received a report of a break and enter at the post office in Codette, SK.
Investigation determined around 5:00 a.m. on February 18, unknown individual(s) broke into the post office, damaging a door and stealing over 20 packages.
Later in the morning of February 18, Nipawin RCMP received a report of a second break and enter that occurred overnight at the post office in Love, SK.
Investigation determined that unknown individual(s) broke into the post office sometime between 5:00 p.m. on February 17 and 6:30 a.m. on February 18, stealing an unknown number of packages, mail and a safe.
Nipawin RCMP continued to investigate.
As a result of continued investigation, an adult female was arrested in Cumberland House on February 23.
On March 9, Nipawin and Cumberland House RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Cumberland House. A male was arrested at the scene.
31-year-old Ashley Dayton from Nipawin, SK, 36-year-old William Fosseneuve from Cumberland House, SK and 24-year-old Reginald Nawakayas from Nipawin, SK are each charged with:
- two counts, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
- two counts, steal parcels sent by post, Section 356(1)(a)(i), Criminal Code;
- one count, theft over $5000, Section 334, Criminal Code;
- two counts, theft under $5000, Section 334, Criminal Code; and
- two counts, mischief under $5000, Section 430(4), Criminal Code.
Ashley Dayton appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on March 12. William Fosseneuve appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on March 13.
Reginald Nawakayas is also charged with one count, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code.
A warrant has been issued for Reginald Nawakayas’s arrest. Nipawin RCMP continue to work to locate and arrest Reginald Nawakayas and ask members of the public to report all sightings and information about his whereabouts.
Reginald Nawakayas is described as approximately 5’11” tall and 250 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair.
