Kev & Rev Take on the Moon Landing: Fact or Fiction?

The Kev & Rev Podcast is back, and this time, they’re diving into one of the most debated topics of all time—did we really land on the moon in 1969? Buckle up, folks, because things are about to get lunar-ious!

Right out of the gate, Kev sets the stage with a big question: how did we manage to put a man on the moon with 1960s technology that had less computing power than our smartphones? It’s a fair point—though Rev, ever the a jokester, isn’t even convinced the moon exists. “You actually believe in the moon?” he quips. Touché, Rev.

The duo then dives into the age-old conspiracy theory that the whole thing was faked. Rev, bringing a mix of logic and humor, reminds us that computer graphics from the 1980s looked atrocious—so how could they have faked something so convincing two decades earlier? It’s a question that might just leave conspiracy theorists scratching their heads.

Kevin then throws in another classic argument: where’s the crater from the lunar module’s blast-off? Shouldn’t there be some evidence of a high-powered rocket lifting off the moon’s surface? Piotr admits that space physics isn’t exactly his area of expertise. Richard Dawkins (whom Piotr “really dislikes but admits says some smart things”) would say it’s best not to have opinions about things we’re ignorant of. Wise words.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the duo’s usual conversation without a few unexpected turns. Kevin admits he could’ve been an astronaut—at least in the sense that he “took up space” in class. And Rev shares a lifelong struggle of calling astronauts “cosmonauts” thanks to a Russian influence growing up. (Kev is willing to let it slide—this time.)

So, did we really land on the moon in 1969? Well, Kev and Rev leave that for you to decide. But one thing’s for sure: whether you believe in the moon or not, you’ll definitely believe in the laughs these two bring.

What do you think? Was the moon landing real, or just a Hollywood production before CGI was cool? Let Kev & Rev know your thoughts!
