Manitoba Chief Appears in Kindersley Court
A Manitoba Chief is facing sexual assault charges in connection with an incident that allegedly took place in Kindersley early last year.
RCMP say the charges follow an investigation into a report made in June 2024. The alleged assaults occurred in Kindersley in February 2024 and involve two adult women. A publication ban is in place to protect the identities of the complainants.
Donald Smoke, 53, of Portage la Prairie, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and made his first court appearance in Kindersley Provincial Court on April 15.
The case is scheduled to return to Kindersley Provincial Court on May 6.
