Hey. Do you know anything about Manitou Springs? Do you know where Manitou Springs is? Or what they are famous for? Well, take heart, I am going to tell you all about it.
Manitou Springs, aka “The Dead Sea Of Canada” is in the sleepy little hamlet of Manitou Beach just a few kilometres from Watrous, SK. This place is famous for their mineral springs and is the biggest in Canada. The water chemistry is unique to the Western hemisphere and the mineral concentration is astounding. The minerals (Magnesium, Carbonate, Sulphate, Potassium, Mineral Salts, Sodium, Chloride, Calcium, Oxide of Iron and Aluminum, Silica and Sulphur) possess natural therapeutic skin and body care properties found only at a few other places in the entire world; notably (Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic and The Dead Sea of Israel).
For decades people have attested to the positive and lasting effects of these legendary waters, first discovered by the Tribes of the Great Plains. Soaking in these waters just takes away any aches and pains and you feel great! They feature 3 big “hot pools” with 3 differing temperatures to suit your taste. Because of the gravity of the water and the minerals dissolved in it, the water is more buoyant. What does that mean? It means you’re unsinkable because your body is floating in the water! This is a really cool experience.
The resort also has 102 rooms, a gift shop, 2 restaurants and convention areas. If you are looking for esthetic services (massages, etc), they have that too. The rooms were spacious and the staff were incredibly helpful, and although it was early in the
season, this place was packed! Visitors come here from all over the world to rest and soak and float in the therapeutic mineral laden waters that boast the highest mineral content in North America.
There was still ice on the Little Lake Manitou but being here was simply amazing and will be better in the summer time when the beach and other summer activities will be open. Enjoy!
