The Kindersley RCMP recently released the following information regarding a scam circulating:
Company Name: Redwood Paving Ltd. (falsely claiming to be from BC)
Scam: Offering paving services using substandard materials (oiled gravel instead of real asphalt).
Method: Demanding upfront payment and becoming aggressive if refused.
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
• Main operator: Mid-30s male, shorter stature, brown hair, British accent
• Known aliases: “George,” “Jack,” “Paul,” and “John Mcumullan/McMullan”
• Claims to be from Ontario (false information)
VEHICLES TO WATCH FOR:
• Rental worksite trucks with Ontario plates
• Flatdeck trailer carrying a skid steer
• Semi-truck/gravel hauler
RECENT ACTIVITY:
• Last seen: Outlook area (east of Milden)
• One arrest made in Biggar area
• Previous reports from Rosetown area from last year
• Found with lists targeting RMs and companies around Saskatoon
WARNING SIGNS:
• Pressuring for immediate payment
• Aggressive behavior when questioned
• Offering unusually low prices
• Claims of “leftover materials” from other jobs
ACTION REQUESTED:
• Contact local RCMP immediately if approached by this company.
• Please document any interactions, including vehicle descriptions and license plates. Do not provide any upfront payments.
