Travels with Melissa and Kevin: Farmer’s Market? Yes, Please!

So, how did you spend the Victoria Day long weekend? Melissa and I went up to Edmonton to visit family and friends and we also stopped in at the Bountiful Farmers Market on 97th Street NW and it was busy and crowded!

There was all manner of goods for sale. From coffee and honey to fresh vegetables and hats. This Farmers Market is open year-round on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. There were also many other food vendors and you could sit down and have a meal, relax and socialize. A stage near the tables served as an entertainment area as there was a person singing and playing a guitar. Also, they have a kid’s area with playground equipment to keep the youngsters busy and help them work off some energy!

Need candles? Check. Need fresh bison meat? Yep. Flowers for that special occasion? Of course. Specialized dog treats? You bet. This place has it all and it’s a great way to spend some time looking at all the vendors and their goods. The nice thing is that they are open year-round. Most farmer’s markets are spring/summer only. It’s the season for farmers markets and this one was outstanding and worth the time to visit! If you’re ever in Edmonton, we highly recommend visiting.
