June Was a Month of Creativity and Connection

At the beginning of June, our whole group headed over to the Kindersley Trade Show. Everyone collected lots of freebies, said hello to some familiar faces, and enjoyed some favorite snacks.
Throughout the rest of the month, individuals worked on a number of creative projects. They made a WCA sign using broken CDs, painted more beautiful rocks for our rock garden, and put a lot of effort into some really cool paintings!
For the squiggle art paintings, each person planned their design, painted the background, and then added texture using colored putty in a piping bag. These pieces turned out wonderfully! Individuals have also been enjoying experimenting and collaborating with music. We’re very grateful to have staff with musical talents who share their skills and encourage others to explore their own musicality.
Another fun moment in June were the many creative fashion moments! Trevor showed off his fine motor skills with a colander hat, and Leera tried out garbage bag fashion while playing water balloon tennis with the group. She even let everyone throw water balloons at her while she attempted to hit them with a tennis racket!
