Rider fans, in case you missed the news, for the first time since 1991, you will get the chance to cheer on the Green and White in Saskatoon.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced that Griffiths Stadium at the University of Saskatchewan will host a CFL pre-season game in 2026 — marking more than three decades since the last time the team brought football action to the Bridge City.
The Riders will also play 10 regular-season home games in 2026, up from the traditional nine that have been the standard since 1986. While the opponent for the Saskatoon exhibition game has not yet been announced, organizers say tickets will be sold separately with more details to come.
Local leaders welcomed the announcement, highlighting both community spirit and economic impact. Mayor Cynthia Block called it “a chance to celebrate Rider Pride right here at home,” while Discover Saskatoon noted the event will boost hotels, restaurants, and local businesses.
The complete 2026 CFL schedule — including the date of the Saskatoon pre-season game — will be released in the offseason.
