Klippers Kick Off 2025–2026 SJHL Season with Strong Start
In the famous words of Happy Days actor Chachi Arcola: “Wa Wa Wa.” And so, the 2025–2026 SJHL season begins. The Kindersley Jr. Klippers hosted the Humboldt Broncos in the Co-op Arena at the WCEC on Tuesday night, and it was a great game. The Klippers iced a totally rookie team so their talent could be better assessed, and wow—these rookies and “hopeful” Klippers played all out and won the game by a score of 3 to 1, despite being outshot 33 to 20. Mattias Radke played goal for the first half, and midway through the second period was replaced by Jackson Dunn, and both played exceptionally.
The forwards and defence also played their hearts out, as they know they are all looking for a spot on the team. There were some stand-out plays and players who are determined to stick around. Jordan Lafleur, Carter Cole, Austin Schafer, and Malaki Martin all had an outstanding game. Head coach Kyle Schneider and his crew will have some tough choices to make. Who stays? Who goes?
This looks to be a very exciting season for the Klippers so far. Stay tuned! The next pre-season home game will feature the visiting Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL on Wednesday, September 10. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
