Cycling Towards Better Care

A new piece of equipment is coming to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) thanks
to a generous group of cyclists. Canada Cycles for Kids (CCFK), led Co-Founders Robert
Fetherstonhaugh and Marc Balevi, completed the final segment of their trek across the prairies with a
ride to Saskatchewan’s only pediatric and maternal children’s hospital.

Troy Davies, CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (JPCHF), had the pleasure of riding
through downtown Saskatoon alongside the philanthropic team, finishing their journey at JPCH.
“Thanks to the remarkable $75,000 gift from CCFK, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital will be receiving a
Sonosite PX Ultrasound, a specialized piece of equipment that brings imaging directly to a child or
expectant mother’s bedside,” said Troy Davies, CEO, JPCHF. “That means faster answers and less
movement for kids and moms-to-be requiring critical care, contributing to our commitment to
family-centred care.”

CCFK cyclists received a guided tour of the world-class facility where they had the opportunity to see
firsthand how their support is helping provide specialized care, advanced technology, and a healing
environment for Saskatchewan’s youngest patients and their families.

Their visit to Saskatoon wraps up their eleven-day itinerary, marking the end of their 24th annual tour.
