Extreme Cold Warning for Kindersley Area

A multi-day episode (Thursday morning through to Monday morning) of very cold wind chills is expected. Coldest wind chills will see -50 to -40.

Affected Area are R.M. of Kindersley including Kindersley Brock and Flaxcombe

An arctic air mass is forecasted to move into the region on Thursday and persist through the weekend. Although temperatures are expected to slightly moderate during the day, they will once again drop to near or below -30C in parts of the region on Thursday night and the following nights. When combined with winds of 15 to 25 km/h, this will result in wind chill values ranging from -40C to -50C at times over the coming days.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
