Wilm Charged After Meet-up Turns Into Kidnapping

30-year-old Sarah Dawn Louisa Wilm, 30, wanted on two Canada-wide warrants is now facing charges related to a kidnapping and robbery incident in Regina.

According to Regina Police Service (RPS), on October. 9, a 34-year-old man agreed to meet up with Wilm in person after talking with her through a messaging service.

“Things went awry when the male found himself in an unfamiliar house, with a group of unknown people,” a RPS press release reads. “It’s alleged the victim was kidnapped, assaulted and robbed before being made to take unknown substances believed to be drugs.”

The man was eventually returned to his home by the suspects, but they stole his car, some electronic equipment and other personal items, according to police. The man  reported the incident to police, and was able to identify Wilm as one of the suspects.

Wilm was arrested on Sunday around the 1400 block of Argyle Street without incident. She now faces five charges, including robbery, assault with a pellet gun, administering drugs, kidnapping and extortion. She first appeared in court on Monday, October 18th.

Earlier this month, Wilm was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant following a Calgary break-in, in which residents were threatened with a large knife.

CCTV footage allowed police to identify a suspect and lay charges by way of a warrant. At the time, Calgary police believed she may have travelled to Saskatchewan.

In 2015, Wilm pled guilty to manslaughter charges with her mother, after Ray Allen Yacevich’s body was found in a burned-out Regina home the year before.
