Tragic House Fire in Davidson Determined Non-Suspicious

A tragic house fire in Davidson on Sunday resulted in the deaths of five individuals.

The Saskatchewan RCMP reported that officers from the Craik RCMP detachment responded to the fire on Ottawa Street in Davidson at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.

Upon their arrival, police noted that the Davidson Fire Department was already battling the flames. An elderly couple, an 80-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman, were rescued from the residence and transported to Davidson Hospital, where they were later declared deceased.

Following the extinguishment of the fire, the discovery of three children’s remains was made inside the house. The police have not disclosed the ages of the children. Autopsies for the deceased are scheduled to be conducted in Saskatoon within the week, according to the police statement.

Craik RCMP in conjunction with Saskatchewan Public Safety, have determined that the fatal house fire that took place on February 18, 2024 in Davidson, Saskatchewan was non-suspicious in nature.

Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigations and Forensic Identification Sections also assisted. The police investigation is now complete and no further updates will be provided.
