Kindersley Fire Gives Winter Driving Tips

Hello, Cody Phinney back for another update from the Kindersley Fire Brigade.

Members of Kindersley Fire have been busy lately! Recently, we’ve had members handing out treats on Halloween, at the schools with the Public Education trailer, and we also recently took part in the Remembrance Day ceremonies hosted by the Kindersley Legion.

With winter hitting our region fast and hard this year I thought I would share some winter driving tips. Always make sure you have all the snow is cleared from both your hood and your roof of your vehicle. The snow blowing off can reduce visibility for you and other drivers around you, as well as being hazardous if it comes off in large pieces. Its also best practice to have enough food and water in your vehicle to last you and your passengers at least 24 hours in case you get lost or stuck in a major snowstorm. Keeping candles and matches with you can also keep the interior of a car warm enough to save a life in the event a car breaks down or cant run. Keeping an emergency kit in an accessible location in a vehicle could make a difference between life and death.
