Scotiabank Closes Branches in Sask. and Atlantic Canada

Residents in Spiritwood, Outlook, and Rosetown, are bracing for the closure of their local Scotiabank branches, expected before the end of 2024.

Concerns are particularly high among the older residents, who generally prefer face-to-face banking over online services.

Scotiabank has announced the relocation of the Outlook branch to Saskatoon set to take place beginning October 17, 2024, and the Rosetown branch services will also move to Saskatoon effective March 20, 2024. Customers affected by these changes will receive detailed information starting October 31. The bank is committed to supporting both customers and employees during this transition.

It’s important to note that the Scotiabank branch in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, is not among those scheduled for closure.

The closures are not limited to Saskatchewan. Scotiabank has been closing numerous branches across Atlantic Canada, particularly in rural areas. Newfoundland has seen closures, along with Nova Scotia, including areas such as Halifax, and Cape Breton.

The branch closures are part of Scotiabank’s broader strategy to consolidate its operations across various markets.
